Butler Community College reduced it's mill levy 6-7 mills and reduced their operating budget since 2019. Butler remains one of the lowest major taxing entities in the county as well as among other community colleges in the state of Kansas. 

Tiered enrollment means lower tuition for Butler County residents. Non-Butler County residents pay 27% more and help Butler County students gain access to great academic programs.

In 2020, colleges and universities across the country faced enrollment decline. Despite reducing the operating budget and reducing the mill levy, Butler has seen enrollment growth in 2024 and 2025. 

Dr. Tamara Daniel, Butler's new President, brings a wealth of experience and understands the need for the college to be a place of service for the community. She has initiated zero based budgeting, engaged key members of the community, and remains focused on fostering new and maintaining key partnerships with business and industry.
